Our U.S. made handlebar bags are built with a durable ECOPAK® fabric and lined with 450 ripstop recycled polyester. Each bag is constructed with YKK® water resistant zipper tape, for longer lasting zipper usage and to help repel water and dirt. The five gear hooks placed on the front allow for accessory attachments such as lights. We even backed the gear hooks with a strip of webbing to add an extra form of durability. These bags are equipped with a side loop to hang when drying or not in use. Topping off our handlebar bags with a toggle tether around the head tube and a low-key safety whistle on the end of the zipper pull, adds function and style.
I own a few handle bar bags- and they are all different sizes. The Moosepacks handle bar bag is the biggest one I own, but it’s still the one I use all the time now. I bought it to use on longer gravel rides,(Gravel Locos) when you need more snacks and gear than you can carry in a Jersey pocket. But then I started to use it for carrying my wallet and other items when I commute by bike (I leave clothes at the office do I can go light). The bag can be easily removed because of the Velcro straps- but it will not fall off even on the bumpiest of gravel roads. The bag has multiple loops for attaching the straps, so you can mount it to work around anything else you might have on the handle bars, like lights, gps, phone, GoPro. And there is another tether that you can cinch around the steerer tube to keep the back in place. On the front, there are more loops where you can mount lights. You can fit a 16oz bottle of water in this bag and still have room for a few snacks. The bag is extremely well made, and I am sure it will last a very long time. In the description of the bag on the website, it describes a loop on the bag which is intended for hanging up the bag to dry it or store it. I really love that loop as a caring strap. I typically put my wallet, GPS and phone right in the bag when I park the bike go into a cafe’ or run into a store. The loop is a great way to carry the bag. If you are looking for a quality handle bar bag that’s the right size for big adventures as well as little ones, then this bag is the perfect choice.
I’m new to gravel and am not accustomed to hanging a big ol’ bag on my bike. First of all, it holds a lot but I wouldn’t say it’s big and clunky. I rearranged a few things on my bike to fit the bag (light and computer) but I don’t mind .. the bag adds that much value to my rides. I’m so happy 😀
I would/will purchase a bigger one for bike packing if Moosepacks makes one.
Also, I love the pack so much, I wish it had a Fanny pack strap so I could keep it with me when I *have* to leave my bike behind.
